Using LSBot in Public Slack Channels

One of the ways you can interact with LSBot on Slack is in public channels. Any channel that starts with #lsbot- can be used for this purpose. We encourage students to use public channels as a way to build community and de-isolate their studies.

Getting Started

Chatting with LSBot in a public channel includes three simple steps:

  1. Navigate to a channel where LSBot is available.
  2. Write a message that tags @LSBot at some point in it to notify LSBot of the request.
  3. Continue the conversation by tagging @LSBot in each subsequent message in the same thread.

LSBot doesn't see when you edit a message, even if you do so before LSBot has responded. If you made a mistake or need to change your message, go ahead and send a new one.
