Landed a Job in One of the Best Local Companies
Taking this program is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
I have a software development background, but most of the time I focused on solving planning and scheduling problems at work. I decided to switch my career to do web development, because I think it's a much more vibrant community and being proficient in web development will open more doors for me in the long term.
I decided to enroll in Launch School after reading great reviews about it, and it did not let me down. I will definitely recommend this program to anyone who wants to be a professional developer. This program not only taught me how to build apps, but also the fundamental programming skills and web development concepts which turned out to be very important when looking for engineering jobs.
I really appreciate the support from the instructors and all the TAs. Although I'm in a different time zone (the outback), I have no problem getting my questions answered and they have been providing me great support and giving me good advice which enabled me to successfully land a job in one of the best software shops in Melbourne.
I like how the program is structured, because it's not just about teaching the knowledge and building projects, but also forcing us to practice a lot in order to build up those soft skills which can hardly gain from casual learning. I was able to confidently build up a social club app for my previous company, and I can do everything myself from writing user stories to deployment after finishing the program.
I have also learned many things from other people who are also attending this program. Sometimes I learn something new from the questions studnets ask. Sometimes, taking a look at their code gives me a lot of inspirations. And guess what, I met someone in Melbourne through this program who was also looking for a job at that time, and he got a very nice job as well!
Now if I look at my Github account, there are 340 commits in one year already, I definitely can't do it without attending this program, and I think taking this program is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
